Coral Lagoon Hand Embroidered Wall Art

Dive deep under the ocean and experience the beautiful textures, shapes and colours of the coral reef in this truly unique piece of hand embroidered art.

Multiple techniques and stitches have gone into creating this from tiny little silk and wool french knots, cotton bullion stitches, textural turkey rug stitch , drizzle stitches and sequin stacked anemones to name a few. The outcome is a one off piece that has drama, texture, depth and beautiful complimentary colours.

It has taken over 18 hours to stitch this with additional hours to frame the fabric (I use a slate frame to stretch the fabric for stitching rather than a hoop which marks the fabric) and to mount it onto mount board using the lacing technique for framing. The rear of the mountboard is signed and dated and the front is embroidered with my initials.

The frame measures 23cm x 23cm (9" x9") and has been left open. A plexiglass insert can be supplied and placed in the frame if you prefer the embroidery to be covered. (let me know in the instructions area when placing the order)
Embroidered area measures approx 13cm x 13cm and is stitched on to a linen evenweave base fabric.
