Coral Reef Inspired Hand Embroidery set in an Indian Melon Shell
A stunning Melon shell that originates from South East Asia, these shells are often collected by local fishermen as a source of food.
This is a one off item.
The shell has been used to showcase some very intricate hand embroidery that has been inspired by the coral reef. The embroidery nestles within the internal curves of the shell and took 20 hours to stitch. 3d bead embroidery techniques were used to construct the embroidery, laid on a base of silk organza and using multiple types of beads, crystals, goldwork copper purls and sequins.
